What is Proyecto Filipenses?
We are a Christian ministry created with the purpose of helping pastors/missionaries in Latin America to plant Christian churches in places where there are no Christian churches or very few in proportion to the population. Our help consists of providing the pastor/missionary with the financial resources necessary to start the church and make it thrive for God’s glory.

How is the ministry supported?
The ministry is supported through donations/offerings from individuals and churches that want to be a part of planting Christian churches so more people know Jesus as their Savior.

Can I deduct my donations from my income taxes?
The ministry has been incorporated legally as a non-profit organization in the State of Georgia as “Proyecto Filipenses, Inc.” and is registered with the federal IRS. Therefore, donations to the ministry are tax-exempt in accordance to federal and state laws.

Who leads Proyecto Filipenses?
The ministry is led by Luis E. Medina, Senior Pastor at Lakeview Baptist Church. Pastor Luis has a lot of experience establishing new churches in Latin America in collaboration with local vetted pastors/missionaries.

How much of the donations is used for the ministry and how much is used for salaries?
No one from the Board of Directors receives a salary or stipend. On the contrary, the Directors support the ministry with their own donations, efforts and talents. In addition, because there are no employees, rental expenses, professional fundraisers or vehicles, all donations received go to our mission.

Where is Proyecto Filipenses working at this moment?
We are working with Cuban Pastor Yordanis Hernandez – a Baptist pastor and missionary for many years – to start churches in the Havana Province in Cuba, a province with a large population and largely neglected in terms of evangelism and church startups.
